Aside from the many engagements of Dra. Itchon, she also conducts Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS providers) for our Overseas Domestic Helpers ( OFWs ) prior to leaving for work abroad.

“In May 2002, I was invited by HDI Network to conduct/provide reproductive health consultation in Philippines and in Hong Kong for Filipino and Indonesian domestic helpers. I find the work very challenging because I am dealing with different cultures but same needs and health concerns. They vary from as simple as arthritis to non-threatening diseases like myoma, breast lumps, thyroid conditions to life-threatening ones such as breast and ovarian cancer, etc.

I thank HDI network for valuing the health interests of our workforce and assisting them through consultations. At the same time, providing me the avenue to advance my cause on educating the public on sexuality and reproductive health risks.”
